HP Envy 114 e-All-in-One – D411c Printer Review
The HP Envy 114 is a great home or small office inkjet printer that meets all of your printing, copying scanning, web printing and efaxing needs. The Envy 114 has the same features as the Envy 100 D411a, thus you won’t see any difference in terms of performance between the two models. The only difference is the trim color.
Features & Benefit

The Envy 114 comes with fast print speed of up to 30 ppm in black and 25 ppm in color in draft mode. It can print 4”x6” photo in as fast as 70 seconds. With the maximum print resolution of 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi, it produces rich and vibrant results. Color photo look magnificent and vibrant. Text also looks crisp and fine. The copier has a maximum copy speed of 30 cpm for black and 25 cpm for color. It works as a standalone copier. You can reduce or enlarge a document between 50-400% and adjust its density.

Ease of use
The Envy 114 features the automatic two-sided printing for producing two-sided output from one-sided original which help save paper and reduce costs when printing. Unfortunately, it lacks an automatic document feeder.

This printer comes with an 80-sheet invisible paper tray which is hidden to maintain its sleek style. Once documents are printed, the output tray automatically extends to catch the printed documents and retracts back into the printer after the job is done. It uses two ink cartridges; one black and one tri-color. You can save some money on frequent printing with HP high-capacity ink cartridges and photo value packs.

As well, you can access and print Web content without a PC using customizable print apps. Setting up this printer is easy and it offers 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity so you can print from multiple PCs in your home. Although there is no wired Ethernet, this printer offers a USB port for a wired connection.
The Envy 114 also comes with outstanding feature called “ePrint” that allows you to print PDFs, MS office documents and photos from anywhere, anytime. Each ePrint-enable HP printer has its own email address. With ePrint capability, you can email your files to your HP’s email address, then it will print from your printer. With Airprint function, you can print anywhere wirelessly from your iPad or iPhone or iPod touch.

After 4 years, my photosmart 4200 decided it no longer wanted to accept its cartridges, I decided to simply buy a new printer. The envy simply stands apart from most printers as it simply feels more solidly well built, it’s much heavier than most but probably more than it needs to be – the thing IS heavy, perhaps that’s why it’s ultra quiet when printing. The set up is easy if you plan to use a cable. If you plan to use it wirelessly – beware, the set up may be a bit more cumbersome. My windows computer could not recognize/discover the printer’s IP address, it took me an hour with tech support to successfully set up. THE REASON I TOOK IT BACK: If, like me, you use your printer for work related documents, beware – THIS PRINTER CANNOT PRINT ON LEGAL SIZED PAPER. Like Apple, HP has sacrificed the practical for the aesthetic. I understand what the designers wanted to do, by hiding the tray and paper under the machine, hence making it a wonderful looking…Read more

I already have one of these and we have used it for about 6 months and loved it so much, I just bought another. It takes up very little space and does what we need it to do. It is not a really high volume printer, so if you want one of those, this is not the right one for you. I wanted a wireless printer that I could print from for any of our devices: ipads, macbook pros, imacs, airbooks. And this does it without any problems. It does require attention to detail when setting this up, so try not to take any shortcuts. All in all, HP did this printer right! |

Calculating Cost Per Page:
Cost per page is a calculation of how much it costs to print one single page. Calculating the cost of printing per page before buying a printer, you can ensure whether or not you are able to save money in the long run.
Cost per page = Price of ink cartridge / Page yield
For example, if the price of an ink cartridge is $15 and its yield is 440 pages, then its cost per page will be $15/440=$0.034 (3.4 cents per page).
